Questions, answered

  • The same 52-step inspection behind every Swappie phone: display and touch, cameras, speakers and microphones, Face ID, charging, buttons, sensors, Wi-Fi and cellular. Before that we check that the phone is genuine, not activation-locked, not SIM-locked and not reported lost or stolen. Battery health is measured and shown on the report. The exterior is graded and photographed. Condition is graded Fair, Good, Excellent or Premium, the same scale used on swappie.com.

  • If the phone is listed for sale, yes. Add the listing link when you order, and the lab compares the phone with it: model, storage, colour, function and condition. If the phone is clearly different from what the listing says, it does not pass.

  • €9.90, with shipping both ways and the report included. Either the seller or the buyer can order, and whoever orders pays when ordering.

  • Testing takes about 2 business days after the phone reaches our lab. Door to door, expect 4 to 6 business days. You get an email at every stage.

  • The report shows which check did not pass and why, and we send the phone back to the seller. Return shipping is included.

  • Back up your data and move it to your new phone. Turn off Find My, sign out of iCloud, then erase the phone in Settings > General > Transfer or Reset iPhone > Erase All Content and Settings. Take out the SIM card and send the phone only, without a case or charger. If you think the battery may be swollen, do not send the phone. Contact us instead.

  • Every shipment is tracked. From the moment the phone arrives at our lab until we hand it to the carrier, it is our responsibility.

  • Anyone who has both the order ID and the phone's IMEI. Share them with the other side of the sale and they can open the report from anywhere.

  • In-app checks are tied to one marketplace and usually only confirm that the phone works and is not locked. Verified by Swappie works with any marketplace or a private sale, includes shipping both ways, grades the condition with photos and checks the phone against the listing. The report stays online, tied to the phone's IMEI.

  • Verification is live in Finland for now, for iPhone 11 and newer models. We plan to add more countries and devices later.

Before you ship: 5 steps, a few minutes

Back up your data or move it to your new phone.

Turn off Find My iPhone. Settings > your name > Find My > Find My iPhone > off. We cannot verify a phone with activation lock on.

Sign out of iCloud. Settings > your name > scroll down > Sign Out.

Erase the phone. Settings > General > Transfer or Reset iPhone > Erase All Content and Settings.

Remove your SIM. Physical SIM: pop it out. eSIM: choose to delete it when you erase the phone.

Packing the phone

Pack it safely. Use the original box, a padded envelope or a small box, and wrap the phone so it cannot move around.

Send the phone only. No cables, chargers, cases or other accessories. We do not test them or send them back.

Is the battery swollen? Do not send the phone. If the screen or back is lifting, or the phone does not sit flat, the battery may be swollen, and that is not safe to ship. Contact us at verified@swappie.com instead.

Write your verification ID and shipping code on the package. Both are in the email we send you. Write them clearly on the outside, for example: SV-2026-A4F71B.

Every report is tied to one phone. Enter the report code from the listing and the phone's IMEI to open it.

The last 6 letters and numbers of the order ID, from the listing or the seller. The full order ID also works.

Dial *#06# on the phone, or ask the seller. The code and the IMEI must belong to the same phone.
